I think my one would be Hether - Covered in Hether. Wide range of songs and styles but mostly psych. Also loved the Laura Groves but mainly a singles year for me.
Orions Belte has been on repeat here. The new album is great but 'Mint' never really gets old. Along the same vibes, I've revisited Svaneborg Kardyb's music many times this year. It's probably very on-your-radar, but I was late to it: I fell in love with Nala Sinephro's 'Space 1.8' immediately upon hearing it for the first time earlier this year. Chanced upon a vinyl copy at Mississippi Studios in PDX and didn't hesitate purchasing for even an instant.
Awesome list. I wasn't familiar with Blackshape or Glass Beams, checking now. Huge Charlotte fan, totally agree. Hiperson sounding cool so far. Thanks so much for sending.
Topical Dancer by Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul. They're great live as well. And this album has especially nice spatial audio production with Airpods Max.
I listened to a ton of Khruangbin this year, but what I really enjoyed is that it apparently tweaked the algorithm to let me discover Glass Beams which are sort of like a Indian-Australian version of Khruangbin. They even hide their identities, but more fashionably (check their videos).
And finally, I got obsessed with Hiperson, an indie rock band out of Shanghai. They were supposed to make their US debut at SXSW 2020. Which of course didn't happen. Neither they or Glass Beams have played the US yet AFAIK.

Yes that Nala record is an instant classic! good grab.
Digging the recent Orions Belte album, new artist to me too.
This playlist is exceptional by Anthony Naples
The young goat for sure

My favorites this year:
The album Blackshape by BLACKSHAPE. Prog rock, I guess? Great music video from it as well.
